Trafiq Cafe and Bakery

Nothing better than a sunny Vancouver autumn day. Jacky and I decided to go on a park stroll at Queen Elizabeth Park before going to a cafe to study. We were riding the bus down Main Street afterwards and Trafiq caught my eye. The cafe was spacious, great for people watching, simple and comfortable. We sat at a long table and spread out our work but before we started hammering our papers we got some study bites to accompany us.

The ladies behind the counter were so nice. Trafiq has the best customer service I have ever experienced compared to all the coffee shops I have studied at. I think one of them asked me “Sorry, but do you want your hot chocolate small or medium?”…you don’t need to apologize, you’re too kind.

Looking in and looking out.

I was crazy about this Lemon and Lavender Cake (CAD5.40 per slice) when I had my first bite. There were other choices such as chocolate, chocolate and raspberry and earl grey but this looked so pretty that I had to get it. I was hesitant that it might be too sour and heavy with the cream but I was so wrong. This pretty piece of dessert was light, girly and floral with small lavender bites mixed in with white chocolate and cream. I admit that it is a must get if it is available on the day you go.

Processed with VSCOcamCaffeine at 2pm wouldn’t be the best for us so we ordered the Hot Milk Chocolate with Real Pumpkin (CAD4.10 medium size). This isn’t the regular hot chocolate though…Trafiq lets you choose what type of chocolate you want and since it was in season, “real pumpkin” was available. After my first sip, this definitely wasn’t just pumpkin spice in our hot milk chocolate and the taste was rich and aromatic. Perfect for the autumn day.
