Cheap, filling, and lively. The Famous Warehouse is my boyfriend’s favourite place because all meals are only CAD5.00. Given the price, the food is surprisingly filling with a great variety of cuisines in their menu ranging from tacos, mac and cheese, baguettes to Asian food. However since it is only $5.00 per meal, service isn’t the top and servers are limited. Atmosphere of The Famous Warehouse is loud and conjuring a young pub life dining vibe. Since many of us starving college students love cheap meals, go earlier at around 5pm to avoid dinner line ups.
For some reason, both “The Chiang Mai Bowl” and “Union Street Noodle Salad” are popular in The Famous Warehouse and I found it funny because both dishes are more Asian than others. The picture above is “The Chiang Mai Bowl” with fried fat Hoikken noodles (I’m pretty sure it was udon) with peppers, carrots, sesame seeds, broccoli, Asian vegetables in a spicy soy and chilli sauce. The noodles were tasty with every slurp and the whole dish was light with an extra taste blast of sour, sweet and spicy.
This is the “Works Burger“ with premium Alberta beef, savoury maple bacon, cheddar, crispy onion strings, macho sauce, shredded lettuce, tomatoes and pickles jammed between two brioche buns. I had a few bites of this but I didn’t like it compared to the “Mushroom Jack Burger” I had last time with sautéed mushrooms and gravy inside.
