The first day of my spring was on a sunny Easter Friday. Jacky and I decided to go to Granville Island like all Vancouverites whenever the sun shows its face. Instead of taking the bus, we walked all the way from Granville Skytrain station and across the highway bridge. In the middle of our small trip, we stopped by the Farmer’s Market in Granville Island and found Stuart’s Bakery. They had so many delicious and pretty cakes on display so I couldn’t help myself.
I don’t know how I could possibly say no to this. There was just so many to choose from!
The first one we got was the Chocolate Mousse Cake because Jacky doesn’t really like cream and he’s more of a chocolate person.
Since there was already chocolate in our option, I got the Caramel Apple Cheesecake since the cake looked really fluffy.
Overall, the cost was around CAD8 for two cakes. These were not cheap but I thought it was a good treat and sweet addition to our holiday. The caramel apple cheesecake was indeed very fluffy and creamy. It didn’t melt in my mouth but I loved how I could chew on small apple bits added into the cheesecake which made it more fresh and airy. The chocolate mousse cake was thick and rich in luxurious milk and dark chocolate fulfilling every chocolate addict’s cravings. There was no hint of “cake” and basically just cream and chocolate mousse. Neither of the cakes would melt in your mouth making us both very full after we were done.
