My weekends are not complete unless I’ve had one brunch date. A few months back, I joined one of Beyunique’s Instameet on a sunny day in collaboration with The Juice Truck. Prior to the event, I met up with a bunch of Vancouver Instagrammers for a brunch date at 33 Acres Brewing Company.
33 Acres Brewing is a family-owned and operated mico-brewery. Located in Vancouver, 33 Acres Brewing brings together food, design, beer and people in one place. Their little spot on West 8th Avenue is the perfect place for an Instagram photo. Setting the brunch stage with minimalistic designs with white and brown tones, 33 Acres is a perfect place for people to eat, drink and meet. On top of brunch, they are also opened for dinner.
Forget mimosas, you have to get a beer or cider with your order.
Smashed Avocado Toast
33 Acres uses Nelson the Seagull bread for their toast and sandwich orders. If you have not read my review on Nelson the Seagull, I was definitely not a fan of their rock hard bread. Thankfully, I soaked the bread into the hot sauce and let it sit for a while before digging in. I had to make it moist so my knife would be able to cut through.
The last time I’ve had smashed avocado was at The Butcher’s Daughter in New York City. I am happy to say that 33 Acres makes an incredibly savoury and creamy smashed avocado. Topped up with some fresh alfalfa sprouts and grape tomatoes, their smashed avocado toast is a refreshing and healthy way to start your day. The only complain I would have is the bread from Nelson.
My apple cider wasn’t photographed in the photo but I would highly recommend it for brunch. Just like the avocado toast, it was also very refreshing and sweet.
