Uva Wine Bar

It feels so good to be blogging on a regular basis again.  I apologize for all the delayed posts coming up, but I ensure you that there will be tons of deliciousness very soon.

Another grand night with good company, good wine and a good vibe. After our visit to Salt, my wine friends and I decided to try out the famous Uva Wine Bar. The atmosphere was dark and mysterious with a chic vibe from the red and white patterned walls. They also had lights on their walls that dazzled the room with a white flowery shaped glow. The theme is set for a fantastic night to catch up with my friends over drinks.

I didn’t even take a glance at the drinks menu and I went straight for the highly recommended Earl Grey Lavender Martini (CAD8). I’m still puzzled why I ordered this because I would not order a pot of earl grey even when I go high tea. The extra booze gave the tea such a tease and fun twist. I should let my grandparents try this and see what they think!

Since all of us are not wine experts, we decided to share a bottle of the recommended Castiglion Del Bosco Rosso Di Montalcino (CAD64/bottle) flown all the way from Tuscany, Italy. The company is owned by Salvatore Ferragamo and something about this bottle of wine makes it a timeless classic. One sip caressed my mouth and made me feel romantic, flirty, and royal. I would love to get this for Valentine’s Day!

A complimentary cheese platter came with the wine enriching the elegant taste of each sip.

Stephanie went for the Prosecco Flight to expand her palette. Wine flights offer a feel of different light and deep flavours that would usually be served at wine tasting events. Each wine is elegant in its own flavour and the colours reflected from each glass glowed with class and style. The flight included a taste of the light and fresh Luna Argenta, the citrusy Adami ‘Bosco di Gica’ Valdobbiadene and the girly pink Bartolomeo ‘Rosa di Sera’ Rosato.
